Today we discuss manual focus and auto focus
There is no definite answer, it is situational and your comfort level.
I prefer manual mode because it gives me some control of the camera settings.
I would also encourage you to start using manual mode, this will make you an expert and give you a sense of ownership.
When you use the manual settings and take an image or make a video, you will feel proud of yourself.
And it is a learning process, if you don’t use the manual settings, how will you learn and command the camera.
It may take time, but sooner or later, you will get there, and trust me, that is an amazing feeling.
Now let’s get back to the comparison between manual and autofocus modes, when you do close-ups, I would suggest using the manual mode only because a slight change
in distance can make a huge difference.
My advice is to use auto mode initially when you are not comfortable with manual mode,
but take the challenge and use the manual mode, play with the settings, and focus manually.
Your hand and eye combination will grow, and it will become easier to focus manually.
