Metroid 2: Echoes Speedrun

Happy April everyone! Join Samus today as she lands on a planet overtaken with hostile lifeforms and ancient sentry robots and explores mysterious caves and ancient ruins. The Federation's elite who went before her were overtaken, so she will need to power up with upgrades until she can free the planet from the control of a powerful and aggressive species before they can present any more of a threat to the galaxy at large.
Edit: So I was doing another run and realized why this run's time was only 5 minutes off of IGT rather than the usual 10... The shortcut to split on livesplit, +, is the same as the shortcut in Citra to speed up the emulator 🙃 I have no idea how I didn't notice then, but it seems obvious now that the gameplay was slightly sped up... I guess that's why Citra isn't allowed on the leaderboards lol. Also, for what it's worth, my most recent PB is still better than what I got here :p

Sorry about some of the texture details like the planet being weirdly colored, green parts of the dark suit lights, the light suit washing out in closeups, and the light suit turning pink in the final ship cutscene. It's hard to get everything perfect especially when I'm not a professional artist or anything and I can't change lighting, just textures. Hope you still enjoyed!
