Using a stolen Omega Cannon on the Wave EMMI [Metroid Dread]
I used a Shine Sink Clip to smuggle the blue/ice emmi's omega cannon out of Ghavoran. I wanted to try using it for early wave beam but the emmi and its faceplate cooling doesn't get slowed if it's not in the hunt state after its Central Unit is defeated (well technically after just entering and exiting the CU room). After TONS of trial and error I finally managed to destroy the faceplate. It does require Gravity Suit but would allow you to skip Storm Missiles. Unfortunately, you're gonna need those storm missiles anyway, because you can't finish the emmi off until its CU is dead :(
Here's my detailed method for destroying the faceplate even though it's kinda pointless:
1. Enter the room, immediately aim when you drop down to check if the emmi spawned to the right, if not then it spawned below so go to the right ledge and aim left as you wait for it to come up. Shoot it with omega stream
2. Just before the emmi reaches you, jump over it. This is the hardest part; if you jump too low or too early it won't climb onto the wall which is necessary for this trick (this happens once in the video, you can still continue the loop with only minimal net loss), and if you jump too high or just barely too late then it will hit you as it climbs up.
3. Triple flash shift over to the other side. It's important that you do this after you land, because if you're pretty much any higher up then the emmi will detect you. Though obviously you still want to be as fast as possible about it because every moment counts
4. Quickly turn around and continue firing the stream, continuing the loop. Make sure your aim is pretty good. If everything goes right, then there will be a net increase in the emmi's heat buildup (you'll know it's working if there's visible heating on its ears after one or two loops). If even the smallest detail goes wrong then you won't have a net increase, or you'll get hit by the emmi and be forced to reset because the heat regenerates so fast.
