I am improving my program Explore Fractals, a Julia morphing design tool. Explore Fractals makes it easy to design Julia morphings. It simulates the effect of deep zooming into the Mandelbrot set by rendering a piece at low depth, transformed to make it look like the result of a deep zoom. Such a simulation has several inaccuracies and limitations but it can be used to test ideas more easily.
This video shows a complex Julia morphing simulated with 64 inflections. I undo the inflections one by one. Normally the magnification required for a morphing like this would be about 2^(20*1.5^64) which is impossible to render. Therefore the tool can also give an idea of what kind of impossible to reach shapes lie in the Mandelbrot set.
