After experiencing the total solar eclipse in pristine, crystal clear skies near Lac-Mégantic, Quebec, Canada, I proclaimed a most unusual statement: it was the best total solar eclipse I had experienced in my 45 years of seeing them. My 15th total solar eclipse, and my second in Canada--the first being in Lundar, Manitoba on February 26, 1979. My 35 "Oh, my God!"s exceeded past eclipses, but to be fair, it was over a minute longer. But it was much more than that for me comparing them to other total eclipses. Ian Oliver speaks to me live from Drummondville, Quebec, Canada the day after the April 8, 2024 "Great North American Eclipse."
