Whit Johnson on ABC Good Morning America GMA covers eclipse enthusiasts--including yours truly--on the Friday morning before the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse. The interview took place in Carbondale Thursday afternoon before traveling Lac-Mégantic, Quebec, Canada to experience totality in pristine crystal clear skies. Whit joined his mom, Dr. Sharon Johnson, in Mazatlan, Mexico the day before that weekend. My journey was a "chase" from under clouds having driven 3,300 miles starting in Queens, New York City, my hometown.
