Mystery Solved ? The Unknown Propeller From A WW2 Bomber
Research shows our recovered propeller is from Halifax NA519 from the French 347 Squadron based at RAF Elvington.
28th October 1944
Take off 13:29 Elvington. Encountered icing of such severity that the oil system froze.Soon afterwards three engines cut and the Halifax was ditched at 15:00, all crew being picked up within the hour and taken to Felixstowe.
