Hello there, this is Dr. Hui Xu from Inner Art of Music. If you wish to contact me to review your annual piano progress, please carefully read the followings, as it may help you get on my "to-do list" faster.
Kindly Reminder: All of my "Free Annual Reviews" will be posted on our YouTube channel as publicly visible videos. I cannot set them as private or unlisted. By contacting me to review your performance for free, you acknowledge and accept this agreement. However, I do offer a paid "Assessment and Consulting Service," as per request, for private one-on-one feedback, which includes "A comprehensive evaluation report, Three demonstration videos, and a 45-minute HD video consultation for questions."
OK, let's start with your "Free Annual Review" checklist:
1) Performance Video
• One Scale and One Arpeggio: Want to know more about "Piano Scales and Arpeggios"? Check them out here: https://innerartofmusic.com/piano-tut...
• One Performance Piece (or Two Contrasting Pieces):
-- Recording pieces that can represent your current level of performance.
-- The sheet music for all the pieces.
-- All pieces must be in the public domain (most classical pieces will satisfy that). I can't help you
review pieces that are still under copyright. Sorry!
• Upload all your above videos to YouTube and get the video links.
-- Your videos must be set to publicly visible. I cannot review private or unlisted videos.
-- If you have concerns about your privacy, you do not need to record your face in the video, but your hands and the piano keyboard must be clearly visible.
2) Questions
• List all your questions about learning piano. I will do my best to answer the ones that I can fit into the 15-minute review. Since time is limited, please prioritize important ones at the top.
3) Email
• Title your email as "Free Annual Review - your name (or any nickname you prefer. I will use that in the review video as your identifier.)
• Advise your real age in the email content. This is required by COPPA law, if you are under 13 years
old, you must have your parents/guardians contact me on your behalf; otherwise, I cannot assist you directly.
• A brief self-intro is always important for me to know your circumstances better and provide helpful advice (e.g., How many years have you been studying piano? Any achievements in music before? Do you practice every day? Do you have a teacher or are you self-taught? Can you read music or learn by ear? Do you have a long-term goal for learning piano? etc.).
• Once you have everything ready, please email all of the above (video links, sheet music and your
questions) to: [email protected]
4) Review Process
• Once I receive your request, if nothing is missing, I will add it to my "to-do list".
• Once I have finished the review, it will be posted as a public video on the "Inner Art of Music"
YouTube channel. I will also email you the video link as a reminder.
• Since I am only available to offer Free reviews between other projects, the estimated time of
arrival (ETA) for each "Free Annual Review" may vary. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
