Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good start to 2024! And to start off this year, we are finally closing off Liam Defining Melodies: Reimagined! I wished I had posted this before 2023 ended but I just wasn’t able to get the cover out in time! Regardless, it’s here now and no better way to end this series than with “See You Again”. If you knew me before 2017, you might know I did a really awful cover of See You Again on my old channel in 2015. I remember how the song trended because of the loss of Paul Walker which was so beautifully commemorated in Furious 7 and a friend back then requested me to do a cover of the song.
But man, have a lot of things changed in eight years. While it is a somber song, it’s one that’s bittersweet. Not just for the death of a loved one, but for the loss of friendships, relationships, if a friend is moving elsewhere, graduating or for the closing and beginning of a new chapter. Which well, the last one is especially what this song represents to me as I wave this past chapter of my life goodbye and it is the perfect way to come full circle. That final scene where Vin Diesel and Paul Walker drive their separate ways through a fork in the road was the perfect send off and to me, represents me moving forward as I leave behind the journey of 2017-2023.
And now, this chapter of my life from 2017-2023 has been closed. I’ll shall never forget this wonderful journey through it’s ups and downs, not only having you guys watching my videos supported me, but God lead each and every step of the way! From innocent beginnings post graduating high school, to the early years of university with the trials I faced and the latter years spent recovering through C0V1D season, sharing my journey through covering Charlie’s music and now, coming out stronger then I’ve ever been before! It all very well culminated in meeting Charlie during the soundcheck at his very first Brisbane (and Australia) concert after a long six year wait and having graduated now from university!
To @charlieputh, I don’t know if you’ll ever see this but because I didn’t get to say it at your Brisbane concert, I want to say to you thank you for being my favourite artist since 2017 and for your music being the healing soundtrack to my own life experiences during this whole entire period from 2017-2023. I love how we share perfect pitch and think alike musically in so many ways. It was you who helped reignited my childhood piano passions, fuelled my love for music production and are one of the major reasons for inspiring me to start my own YouTube music channel. My words are simply not enough to tell you how much you have had an impact on me. Love to you brother! Maybe one day, we’ll collaborate my perfect pitch homie! 💚 🫶🏼
This is the last video/cover you’ll see from me for quite some time as I’ll be on hiatus now from making videos to get some downtime as well as prepare for a new era not only for me individually, but for this channel. No plan as to what but I’ll be focusing more on diversifying with covers of other artists songs too as well as learning the ropes with producing more original stuff or remixes.
