Video on BIOTECHNOLOGY and GENETIC ENGINEERING is meant to assist students in colleges (Senior secondary students), those sitting for external examinations like IGCSE and others, those preparing for WAEC, GCE, NECO, UTME, POST-UTME etc.
The video mentioned the meaning of Genetic engineering. Highlighted also, are the steps involved in the production of insulin and other engineered proteins like Alpha and Beta interferons in industries. The meaning of genetically modified organism was given and their characteristics as well. The video also stated areas genetic engineering is useful to man as well as its ethnical concern in the society. In the video, the importance of Restriction enzymes, Plasmid DNA, Ligase enzymes and insulin injection used in genetic engineering are stated in simple terms.
This video also has relevant images and past questions from WAEC, GCE, NECO, UTME, POST-UTME and IGCSE to help student's mastery of topic and can be used as teaching aid by Biology subject teachers in class.
