Upgrading my PC from Windows 7 to Windows 10

My Office PC was my only remaining PC not running Windows 10. After I had assured myself that all the critical legacy applications that I need for everyday management of my home and business would operate under Windows 10, and after clearing out a host of unnecessary and unused programs and data, and upgrading to a 480GB SSD as my main system drive, it was time to do the 'free' upgrade before the July cutoff date.

I had recently seen the results of a disastrous Win 7 upgrade attempt that had left a friend's machine locked up and inaccessible, so decided to at least record the screen during the process. This was done in Full HD with a second PC running OBS Studio software, using an AverMedia HD Gamer Lite HDMI capture card.

Except for a problem with the 'system reserved partition' not being big enough, necessitating the download and use of a free third-party repartitioning application, the install went quite smoothly. Overall duration of the upgrade was about an hour.

This video captures the more interesting (?) moments of the exercise. If you're not interested in the repartitioning part, the upgrade proper starts around 6min 14sec. The music is mine.
