Why I ALMOST Gave Up GUITAR...
I almost gave up the guitar…
And like many people, my excuses were that:
I didn’t have time
I had other priorities
It was just a hobby…
But later I realized that the honest reason is that I didn’t understand music and I was stuck, and sick of just “winging it”, playing by ear and nodding with the same pentatonic licks.
When later I DID understand theory, it respired my passion SO MUCH that I built my life and my career around music and the guitar.
And I’m not saying that you should learn theory so that you can quit your job and try to become a pro musician. But you can DEFINITELY include the guitar in a fulfilling way, and even play shows and be semi-pro.
You just need the right guidance, a clear understanding of music, and good practice routines.
