Lets Build Twitter From the Ground Up: Episode 185 || Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL and React
Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.
In this episode we pick up where we left off last episode in the create message modal content component. Today we are setting up the search bar in the component to allow us to search for users across the entire application to message. To do this we wrap our create message modal content component in the discovery provider to allow us to search for users. Then we use that discovery context in the create message modal content component to search for users when you type into the search bar, along with mapping through the users to display them on the page. Once the logic is complete for the searching, we jump into the CSS to style up the component we have been working on the past 2 episodes to get it looking and feeling like twitter.
