Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.
In this episode we try to wrap up the logic for the create message modal component. To do this we create a new component to display the selected users for the new conversation. We also had to do a small tweak to the css in the create message modal component for these new cards to work. Then we focus on setting up the new openConversation async thunk to be able to open up already existing conversations without making a slow api call, as well as also being able to make an api call when the conversation does not exist already. Then we wrap up with a few refactorings around the create message user card and a couple of other components and test everything out to wrap up the episode.
