This time, our morning coffee will touch on a less pleasant topic. At least the setting will be comfortable! ☕😊
We hosted ScreenSaverz co-founder and design management mentor, Aljaž Vindiš, and Pia Klančar, product design team lead and certified career development coach.
We talked about how to respond to the growing discomfort with current topics: the escalating costs, the mass layoffs, the rise of artificial intelligence, ... and the impacts they can have on the design.
Pia shared her insights on human aspects of current situatuon, and how to act preventively - in order to maintain our health and positive self-image.
Aljaž shared some insights from his courses. These help individual designers and design team leaders correctly diagnose the environment in which they work; how to better integrate design in it and how to increase its recognized value.
Pia is the head of the product design team at Userlane and a career development and mindset coach accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Her work focuses on people, not pixels. She started her career as a freelance designer in Slovenia, and, after moving to Germany, found her place in the in-house design teams. She has worked in dynamic startups in the area of gaming, privacy, search engines and browser development, online sales and digital adoption. Pia successfully combines her understanding of working with people with knowledge of product development. She says she is a generalist. Her biggest passion is helping people who want to upgrade or completely change their careers.
Aljaž's work involves the design of solutions in the areas of the Internet of Things and digital twins, infographics and visualizations of data, cartography and spatial orientation, and personalized or contextually adapted content. His work has led to numerous business successes, excellent user feedback and professional recognition in the fields of design, journalism and statistics. He helped more than a dozen companies launch products and participated in the creation of three internationally successful teams. Finding and mentoring young talent is an ongoing passion of his, and he often shares his knowledge through lectures, workshops and trainings. He's done over 50, at home and abroad.
Event was moderated by Amedea Derenda Mujezinović.
