Designers often encounter a lack of understanding, and sometimes even disapproval of our suggestions and contributions. It can feel like we have to constantly fight for our place and justify the value of our profession. We admit that we are different; we actually wear this label with pride.
But is our work truly so specific?
Or have we failed to integrate it effectively into the business context?
Do we need to be in a constant battle?
Or could a different approach yield more fruitful results?
Is the business environment an impossibly complex puzzle?
Or can design methods effectively engage stakeholders, not just users?
In this meeting, we discussed why we need to wear different hats for successful collaboration with stakeholders. What are these different hats, and when to wear which of them, was the topic of the talk with ScreenSaverz's new mentor, Nina Jurcic, a design leader with experience in international, multi-disciplinary teams, currently living and working in Berlin.
