Loikaw Myanmar Kayan 2019
These images were captured in 2019, only months before the troubling political unrest and the pandemic deeply challenged these people and their way of life. Featured are Kayan, Kawaah and Kayow. The soundtrack is a recording of a Kayan welcome song, performed by the woman captured in the first portrait in this slideshow. We hold out hope that these wonderful people and their unique cultures will survive.
