In Finland a "Cadet" is a future officer, training in the cadets' school or National Defence University. It's a three year long education and once completed the cadets are promoted to lieutenants. They will then form the professional core of the Finnish Defence forces who will go on to train and lead conscripts. This song was written by Esko Nieminen and Composed by Usko Jokinen.
