Dot3D to CloudCompare | Direct DP Import Workflow
This brief tutorial demonstrates the simple process of opening a Dot3D point cloud file directly in CloudCompare (v2.14 & up) in its native .DP format.
It doesn't get much easier than this! We're glad to welcome CloudCompare as an official DPv3 import partner with this latest update (v2.14.alpha).
Simply drag and drop (or File/Open) any .DP scan file straight into CloudCompare. "DP compatibility" mode is no longer required with CloudCompare version 2.14 & up, allowing direct import of the latest, most efficient, native .DP point cloud format (DPv3) and making this workflow more seamless than ever. Just drop any scan straight in. Thanks CloudCompare!
