eCW Scribe 7 Creating Custom Commands in Dragon Medical Voice Recognition
eClinicalWorks Scribe allows you to add dictation and other text to different areas of the progress note. While you can type in this text, Scribe is much more efficient when combined with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. Note that you must be using Dragon Medical Practice edition when using an EMR. Nuance, the makers of Dragon, intentionally disabled all of their non-medical editions of Dragon so that they won't work with modern EMR programs.
This video shows you how to use Dragon to create custom commands. These commands can contain Scribe commands within them. In this manner, one quick Dragon command can insert one or several Scribe commands, greatly speeding up your progress note documentation.
I am using Dragon Medical Practice Edition 2, also called Dragon 12.5.
