This lesson contains about the Introduction of forms, Atrributes of form tag.
Forms add the ability to web pages to not only provide the person viewing the document with dynamic information but also to obtain information from the person viewing it, and process the information and sends respond back to that person.
Forms work in all browsers.
Forms are Platform Independent.
To insert a form we use the FORM tag. The rest of the form elements must be inserted in between the form tags.
Form tag has the following four attributes:
1.) ACTION: is the URL of the program (servlet, jsp, asp, asp.net, cgi, php etc) that is going to accept the data from the form, process that data, and send a response back to the browser.
2.) METHOD: GET (default) or POST specifies which HTTP(Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) method is going to use to send the form’s contents(i.e. user's entered data) to the web server.
3.) NAME: contains a form name used by JavaScript or
VBScripts.
4.) TARGET: denotes the target frame where the response page will show up.
