Pets Panic Too!
I never thought I’d be writing this but my latest client has panic attacks. She’s already a little high strung and has had a stressful life. When we met, she had been locked up in a cage, abandoned, and wouldn’t even look out from behind the bars. She was beautiful though and my kids wanted her, so now she lives with us.
She is Lani, and she’s our 95 pound Dutch shepherd. She’s adopted me as her alpha dog but accepts petting and gratuity from everyone in the house. Lani is special with special needs, one of them being that she has panic attacks.
She had a full-blown attack after we got her from the groomers. Being put back into a cage until I picked her up overloaded her nervous system and she went into full panic. She stuck her head under my arm as we drove home. Once we arrived she immediately gulped down a half gallon of water and was still gasping and gulping for air. It wasn’t until I rolled her over on her back and rubbed her belly that she calmed down and relaxed.
I’m sure the belly rub would work well with humans too but it might be a little awkward in public.
So today Lani has started on a new herb program. She is getting 2 caps of Inner Peace® in her food, along with 2 caps of Mushroom Complex™. Dogs are getting cancer at much higher rates than ever before so I’m just taking precautions.
