The purpose of this video is to show that the quickest way to end an encounter with police is to remain silent. Why? The SCOTUS recommends that you do not talk to police. That is what we did when things turned from gratuitous greetings to questioning. Silence doesn't make us an "ass". It protects us.
People need to understand that the police do not walk across a parking lot to have a friendly conversation. They do it to gather intelligence, and to report on it. When you willingly give up that information, it's on the books. Guess what happens the next time you have police interaction? You are a known actor. It doesn't matter that you did nothing wrong, the next cop will just know you are someone that has had other police interaction. That's enough to ratchet things up even more. You are "suspicious" to every other cop even though you did absolutely nothing wrong.
So, before you get disarmed by a smile and fall into their trap, just realize that we did what the SCOTUS recommends. Even they know the police don't come to you because you look like a nice guy. They understand how the system works better than anyone.
