Haas team principal Guenther Steiner came under some criticism for the manner in which he managed Mick Schumacher and his exit from the team last year. Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff, while speaking to Blick, has made a few strong statements

Steiner Wouldn’t Have Mistreated Mick If Michael Was Around – Wolff
Toto started off by revealing the team’s plans for Mick Schumacher, who is now their reserve driver
“If one of our drivers gets Covid or gets injured, Mick will be in the Mercedes! Period, end of discussion!”
“We're trying to get an old car ready for him as soon as possible”
He then praised Mick
“I’m looking [out] for the little one. I can only say that his parents did nothing wrong in raising him”
He signed off by suggesting that Mick wouldn’t have been treated the way he was if his father Michael Schumacher was there by his side
“I am sure that if Michael had been by his side in those two years at Haas, Steiner would never have dared to treat Mick this way”

“It could have been anyone and he came and apologised so it’s all good on that side”
