I could not keep this microwave although I wanted to. I had to replace my 7 year old model since it went belly-up. After research, I bought this one from a big box store and with a neighbor installed it. We set the microwave up for venting into the kitchen, recirculate, according to instructions. However the cabinet above the microwave is deeper than the other wall cabinets. The grill for venting into the room is in the microwave door and vents upwards. The cabinet was covering the vent. I should have seen it before I installed.

I had to order a GE NM3151RFSS which vents face the room and return this one. The 3160 is the better microwave but does not work for my situation. Its quieter, faster and more robust that the 3151. So I still recommend it as long as it compatible with your kitchen.

I got this to replace a 3-year old GE microwave that went kaput. The old one wasn't under warranty anymore and it cost over $100 just to get a technician out here, so we decided to invest in a new one. I'm very happy with this microwave. It offers the same sleek design that the older one did, matches well with my other stainless steel appliances. It has every standard microwave feature we've all come to expect. My only gripe is that the popcorn button (which I use all too frequently) makes you choose the size of the popcorn bag--there are 3 options. Kind of annoying when you're used to just pushing popcorn and having it start--now, I have to press it twice (to select the middle size, because frankly I have no idea how big my bags are and of course they're not listed in ounces on the bag) and then also to hit start. Very minor but still, kind of annoying.

Installation was not as easy as the manual makes it sound--it took me and my husband a while to get it, and one of the screws kept falling through the actual microwave, so we had to take it down, shake it upside down, etc. I think we ended up using 3 of the 4 screws and just hoping it would hold, because it was such a process to install. But I guess that'd be any microwave that you have to hold up while installing!
