Defining External Slot Types
Custom slot types are useful in an Alexa skill for capturing domain-specific concepts as parameters in user utterances. By defining the slot types externally from the skill, you will be able to more easily maintain them separate from the skill itself and even reuse the types across multiple skills.
In this video, I show how to define an external slot type and use it in an Alexa skill.
