Although Node is the most common choice of language for developing Alexa skills (and Python to a slightly lesser degree), did you know that you can also develop your Alexa skills in Java?
Java has a rich history, numerous libraries and frameworks, and strong developer community, many of whom may not be eager to learn Node or Python to develop voice experiences for Alexa.
In this video, I show how to develop a fairly simple Alexa skill using Java as the programming language. If you're a Java developer, you'll learn how to add voice application development to your know-how. Or, if you're already familiar with how to develop Alexa skills in Node or Python, then you'll recognize how the Alexa SDK for Java parallels the Alexa SDK for those languages.
