This Used to Be Indiana's Capital... What Happened Here?!?
This is Vincennes — a city so old, its star attraction is a guy who’s been dead since the 1700s. Once the capital of the Indiana Territory and a hotspot for fur traders, soldiers, and canal boats… today? It's the kind of place that only shows up in trivia night as a question nobody gets right.
In this video, I take you through Indiana’s original capital — from the George Rogers Clark Memorial to Vincennes University, and even a couple of burial mounds that somehow dodged bulldozers and farmland. I’ll show you the Red Skelton museum, where William Henry Harrison lived before briefly becoming president, and how the city went from historic powerhouse to Walmart-and-Rural-King reality.
