This piece is based on the Westminster Quarters, which you’ve probably heard and know of as the melodies that clocks will chime every 15 minutes, such as the one in my house that interrupts my recordings all the time. And yes, it was chiming as I created the score. The piece begins with a chimes solo playing the melody, and then it’s used in various different styles throughout the piece, such as march-like, slow/lyrical, and j a z z, before ending with a recap of everything. Therefore, this piece is in sonata form. Because it’s based on clocks, it will also feature clock ticking like The Mystery of Ring 5 and Crystal Countdown (my previous two compositions) did. At six minutes long, this now takes the place of my third longest composition - I hope you enjoy!
