Advanced Scriptable Controls | Mathcad Prime 10
PTC Mathcad Prime 10's biggest application enhancement focus was to add Advanced Controls to PTC Mathcad. In contrast with Basic Controls (the Combo Box added in PTC Mathcad Prime 7 • Combo Boxes | Mathcad Prime 7 ), Advanced Controls allow you to insert control structures in your worksheet that can be scripted using VBScript or JScript to create powerful interactions with your worksheet content or the file system. These control structures range from list boxes, radio button groups, check boxes, sliders, buttons, and text boxes.
The potential use cases allowed by mastering Advanced Controls are nearly limitless, and further developing these will continue to be a priority for the Mathcad team. One simple use case you can see in this video is being able to conditionally format a text box for a dynamic "pass/fail" result. Far more than that is possible, especially since you can combine the power of scriptable controls with Mathcad Prime's API. There are large opportunities for automation and productivity gains with the new functionality.
