Photoshop: 8 vs 16 bits per channel Workflow
Why would we care about bit depth?
The only reason why you might care about bit depth beyond being academic about it is that if you have insufficient bit depth in your images it can cause unwanted posterization or banding.
Let’s face it no one wants that, off course. But it can be avoided and in the this video I want to point you in the right direction by explaining when and for what reason you might want to use 8 bpc vs 16 bpc in your workflow and therefore minimizing the chances of unwanted posterization or banding
In this video I will show you real world examples of image and explain where I would use 8 bpc and where I would use 16 bpc workflow instead.
