I get asked a lot of retouching questions so I wanted to try to answer some of them. There are plenty of beauty retouching tutorials for a change I will be working on an editorial. Some of your will be pleased I’m sure.
Probably the number one question that people have is the infamous; “How do I get this look?” question. Which is basically a codename for finding images in fashion magazines or online and asking how to achieve a particular color correction also known as color grading. Probably the most requested “look” that I have been asked is from the Natasha Poly’s Gucci Spring Summer 2010 Ad Campaign. So I will use the as a reference.

I will be retouching three images from this editorial in the upcoming tutorials and that brings me to the other question people often ask. Question is how to much the colors between images from the same shoot? How do you mean the look your achieved be consistent across all images. That is why I picked three images so I can show you how. The way I figure, one image is, well one image. Hard to show how to do it. Two images are not enough to establish pattern, and more than three images would be repeating myself. Three seems to be the magic number.
There are off course more than one way to do it, but I will show you three ways. People also ask me workflow question and just recently Phase One Company released their new flagship raw converter, Capture One Pro 8, so I said why not? It has been getting a lot of attention and I wanted to make some tutorials on Capture One Pro as well as well. But many people still use Adobe’s Camera Raw plug in or Adobe’s Lightroom. I wanted to offer comparison between the three workflows.
In this video I will give an overview of what is to come and will talk about some of the hardware and software considerations you might to take into account.
