The boutique VST maker Plogue had their Black Friday sale going on, so I bought some of their plugins. I decided to revisit one of my old favorite mixes on this channel to see if it could sound even more like a real 16-bit racing game.
I think the results speak for themselves, don't they?
This mix was made entirely with the factory library, though unfortunately I did need a second instance just for the "Soundtrack" channel. I could've imported the Roland U-20 samples, but I honestly liked most of these better aside from the bass and organ samples. Would you believe this is yet another sample library that DOESN'T include a true slap bass? You know, the sample the SNES is probably most famous for?
