About gratitude
We forget to be grateful to people who have done good for us, and continue to do so. We forget to express gratitude to our parents. We think it's the way it should be—that they love us, care for us, stay up all night, work to provide for us—we think: well, that's what parents are supposed to do. And who ever thanked their parents every day for going to work, earning money, providing us with shoes, clothing, food, paying our utilities, and allowing us to enjoy hot water and all the other comforts? Who among us ever said words of gratitude to our parents before going to bed? No one. With rare exceptions. And this is more of a miracle than a rule of life. So we forget to thank God.
