Sinful binoculars
The enemy is interested in breaking a person or pushing him into the dirt, breaking God's commandment already at the end of his spiritual feat. It happens that a person fasts with ease and joy, and now, it would seem, Easter is coming soon, and suddenly some kind of darkness comes over him, suddenly the person falls into one or another sin. As Bishop Alipy once said: “When the enemy pushes you to sin, he turns the binoculars to a decrease, says: “Well, do it, it’s not so bad, sin. Everyone sins, and you sin too - there’s nothing terrible about it.” But when a person sins, the enemy turns the binoculars to a larger one and leads the person into despair, as if saying: “Aha, what have you done! There is no forgiveness for you, how can you go to a spiritual father?” And he instills false fear in a person, and he becomes confused.” Metropolitan Arseniy of Svyatogorsk
