Happy (Sad) Valentine’s Day, I guess! Originally I wasn’t going to post this (was more for myself than anything so nothing was really t/t’d), but I ended up liking the product a lot more than I thought. Reese Lansangan is an artist I continue to look up to fondly and was an early inspiration in my musical journey. For the Fickle, which comes from her 2017 EP Of Sound Mind and Memory, is one of my comfort songs. The lyrics, the arrangement, her soft and tender but almost tired voice give me shivers and bring me to tears.
Despite the lows of loneliness and insecurity which creep around me all the time, I am reminded of how it is ok to express these feelings. To simply float among them, in the numbness of it all, as a form of love and a form of yearning. I hope this song can also be a sense of comfort to you, that you will find and have steady love in your life.
