We are used to explaining the problems of the economy with war, but it is becoming increasingly obvious: the main threat is not only external. The rapid development of the economy is hindered by managerial myopia, a lack of strategic thinking, and a loss of faith in the future.

Ukrainian business has been living in survival mode for the fifth year. 64% of companies have a critical shortage of personnel, more than half do not have a plan even for a few months ahead. And the problem is not only in the lack of people, but also in the fact that we still do not prioritize unlocking the potential of Ukrainians and increasing labor productivity.

We must stop perceiving people 50+ as “older”. Experienced people can and should remain economically active. Ukraine needs to activate all citizens, otherwise we will have to compensate for demographic losses with labor migration.

Business is suffocating without investment, without accessible financing, and without trust in the state. Entrepreneurs fear that the state can worsen the “rules of the game” at any moment, and this blocks development no less than war.

Another critical problem is the lack of vision. We have been moving for 35 years without understanding where exactly. The country, business and every person must learn to think in terms of the future. Because today's profession is not a life sentence.

The logic of “surviving today” is the reason for our lagging behind in technology, innovation and productivity. While the world is investing in artificial intelligence and future industries, we often only ask whether it will bring profit now.

Ukraine must become a country of the best opportunities and realize its true potential.

How to increase labor productivity? What helps business develop? What role do the latest technologies play in economic growth? This and many other topical issues were discussed in the ICTV studio. Turn on the video.
