दोस्तों आप आए दिन ये सुनते होंगे कि किसी शहर के किसी प्रोडक्ट को जीआई टैग मिला है। लेकिन ये जीआई टैग होता क्या है, किसे दिया जा सकता है और इसका फाइदा क्या है ?
आइए समझते है अगले एक मिनट में
जीआई टैग उस प्रोडक्ट को दिया जाता है जिसका origin किसी particular region से जुड़ा हो जैसे अमरोहा की ढोलक यानी जीआई टैग किसी व्यक्ति को नहीं किसी क्षेत्र विशेष में produce होने वाले प्रोडक्ट को दिया जाता है।
यह टैग एक बार में 10 साल के लिए valid होता है और अनगिनत बार renew कराया जा सकता है।
GI tag मिलने का फाइदा ये है कि जिस प्रोडक्ट को यह टैग मिलता वहाँ के producers इस टैग का इस्तेमाल उस प्रोडक्ट को बेचने के लिए कर सकते हैं यानी जीआई टैग किसी प्रोडक्ट की regional identity को बताता है।
भारत में पहला जीआई टैग darjeeling tea को 2004 में दिया गया था।
