"Suomen Lotta" - Finnish WW2 Lotta-Svärd song [Sanat] + [English Lyrics]
Lotta-Svärd was a women's voluntary paramilitary organization in Finland from 1920-1944. The name comes from a poem of the same name by J.L.Runeberg from "The Tales of Ensign Stål". The "Lottas" would perform non-combat duties for the military such as communications, meteorological, logistical, medical, bureaucratic and even Anti-Air Reconnaissance. They would have over 200 000 members and ultimately 291 Lottas gave their lives for the fatherland. This song was made by Usko Kemppi and performed here by Eugen Malmstén.
