Great Manchester Run 2017 | Half Marathon and 10K
A brief overview of the 2017 Manchester Great Run events, including both the 10K and Half Marathon Events.
Despite the city mourning the loss of 22 innocent lives earlier in the week, tens of thousands turned out to run and support the Great Manchester Run events. Formally one of the worlds largest 10K events, this year the organisers added a Half-Marathon to the line up.
The course, lined with spectators, music and acts took runners from the City centre, out to both the Etihad and Old Trafford Stadium before returning to the city centre for the finish.
A minutes silence and poems were held to remember those who had lost their lives however with an increased security presence the atmosphere was great.
