2020 All-star tribute to legend B.B. King ft Robert Randolph
In February 2020, Capitol Theatre in New York hosted a massive tribute to the late B.B. King called The Thrill Is Gone: A Tribute to B.B. King. Some of the greatest blues musicians took part including B.B.'s dear friend Buddy Guy, Steven Van Zandt, Robert Cray, Steve Jordan, Pino Palladino, Ann Wilson Susan Tedeschi, Warren Haynes and six time Grammy nominee, Robert Randolph.
Robert Randolph, listed by Rolling Stone as one of the Top Guitarists of All Time. His album Brighter Days was nominated for a Grammy at the 2020 Award Show. Gary Clark Jr. won, but it was Robert's sixth Grammy nomination, so it's very clear to the Recording Academy that Robert is an incredible talent. And they're not the only ones. The renowned pedal steel guitarist, vocalist and songwriter's network tv debut was on the Late Show with David Letterman. He has toured with some of the most successful artists of our time including the Dave Matthews Band, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Eric Clapton and Santana, and performed at the BB King Tribute in February 2020. His talent has resulted in performances on albums and songs by Lynyrd Skynyrd, David Foster, Buddy Guy, Elton John, Norah Jones, Hank Williams, Ringo Starr, Dave Matthews, Ozzy Osbourne, Cee Lo Green, Robbie Robertson and G. Love.
Robert Randolph and The Family Band released the Brighter Days album in 2019. It was produced by 6x Grammy Winner, Dave Cobb and included the soul rock based songs Baptise Me, Second Hand Man, Strange Train and our fav' Don't Fight It - a rock groove song that makes everyone wanna get up and move!
