Making a Kolam in KnotPlot

This is how to make a kolam using the Celtic knotting engine within KnotPlot. Starting with a 9x9 square grid of cells, one places breaklines at cell boundaries. As this is done, the number of individual strands constantly changes. Eventually we are left with a single strand that turns out to be a lovely design and also a knot with interesting and unexpected connections. We will see what that is in the sequel to this video.
