For all those who have lost work or have experienced loss in any way during this pandemic, this song is for you.
Last Sunday, with a heavy heart, I was feeling the weight of all of the losses over the past year. This song came to me like a warm hug that I so desperately needed. As I sat in the sun staring out at the Blue Ridge Mountains. It reminded me of the poetry in a sunset, the wonder of music and how the Great Spirit floats through our souls on the wings of song. As I researched the lyrics I was struck by the realization that no matter how much time passes, the absolute 'gift' of our emotions, combined with our ability to some how fit them together into words that still touch the hearts of our children generations later, is a true miracle. How Great Thou Art, written in 1885 by Carl Boberg of Sweden.
