Search for missing Ohio 14-year-old girl
DAYTON, Ohio -- Authorities in Ohio are searching for a missing 14-year-old girl. Michaela Bruce was last seen Tuesday. She is believed to be with a 44-year-old man who is accused of having a sexual relationship with her. I hope it comes out safe and that she's okay. And that he knows he's going to be found and it ain't going to be good, the girl's mother, Tammy, said. Bruce likened her daughter's relationship with her suspected abductor as a cult. It's like her little brain has been drilled over and over and over that he loves her. I trusted him. His daughter was my daughter's best friend. His wife was my friend, she said.It should not be going on, regardless of what they think or how in love they may be, Sgt. Scott Elliot with the Clark County Sheriff's Office in Ohio. Elliot believes wherever Edwards is, he has cash and may possibly be armed with knives and guns. From what we've gathered, he's going to be warm somewhere, maybe a hotel somewhere here in the county, possibly got assistance and may be -- could be -- out of the county by now, Elliot said. Elliot says deputues continue to follow-up leads, checking local hotels -- anything -- to find the two. She's still a child. She's still a child. She's 14-years-old and she can't be making decisions like that for herself, her mother said. I lost my daughter, I lost too much.Local news station WHIO reports cell phones and other items belonging to the pair were found in an abandoned car Wednesday. This is not the first time authorities have search for them. Edwards was arrested in September after he allegedly took Bruce from a school bus stop. Authorities issued an AMBER alert in that incident, but not in this latest case because they believe Bruce went willingly.
