Parents Illegally Parking And Blocking The Bike Lane At A Medford Middle Sch

MEDFORD, Ore.-- A Medford middle school cannot keep cars out of the bike lane. Hedrick Middle School has limited parking, and because of it, parents are pulling over in the bike lane and illegally parking while waiting for their kids.
Parking in a bike lane is illegal, according to state law.
City Council Member Chris Corcoran said this has been a problem for years, but now, the city and the school district are working on a solution.
"We might be able to make that where parents could come and stop wait for their child to come out of the school," Corcoran said.
For now, the school has put up cones and new signs to try to keep parents out of the bike lane.
