This series focuses on developing skating patterns that defensemen can use to help control the dot lane. It is critical for the player to keep their eyes and/or chest square the puck carrier, and protect the middle of the ice. Defensemen must also be able to effectively control their speed, stick position, and the direction their toes are facing to eliminate as many options as possible.
