Emmie (5) competes in Italy and won 1st Place at Piano Talant International Competition
Little Emmie played Bartok #1 (Children at Play), #11 (Lento, Lullaby) and #38 (Winter) for the "For Children" Special Prize in the age 5-10 division "For Children" category and won Diploma Di Merito (2nd highest score out of 15 contestants) on 6/14/2014. Then Emmie played Theme with Six Variations in C Major for the Category A (age 5-7), and won First Place with a score of 97 on 6/15/2014. Emmie has studied piano for 16 months with Mrs. Sueanne Metz and is 5 years and 9 months old at the time of this competition.
PS After Emmie got on the stage, the announcer said lots of things in Italian about Emmie and her pieces. He shaked his head when he announced "Children at Play." Emmie, not knowing a word of Italian, interpreted it as not play her first piece "Children at Play." The video "Children At Play" is recorded in a hot practice room (no air conditioning...seems to be very common in Milan) on the same day of competition.
