Emmie recording for WFMT 98.7 Chicago's Classical and Folk Music Radio Station
Emmie's first time recording for a radio station -- 98.7 WFMT Chicago's classical and folk music Radio station with three Little Preludes by Bach! There were live audience at the recording venue.
The first piece (C Major BWV933) was a new piece that was added to Emmie's program six days prior. Her teacher, Mrs Sueanne Metz, taught her the entire piece on an added lesson on a Sunday night, making generous marks and hints all over her music. Everything was moving rapidly. However, the day before recording, Emmie's right hand finger 4 was injured and could not be put on with any pressure. Emmie slept, ate, read books, watched youtube, played dolls...ate and slept. The next morning, she woke up with a stuffed nose and a sore throat. So she spent a big part of the morning soaking in a hot bubble bath. At 1pm Saturday Oct 3rd, Emmie went up to the stage of an enormous auditorium with live audience. While I was so extremely nervous and ready for any flavors of drama to happen in front of me, Emmie played her 3 pieces nearly perfectly! I couldn't help to give her a big hug as I went up to stage to get her pedal extension. I am so proud of her! It was unreal. I later asked her how she did it. She said, "I knew I needed to do my best, so I told myself to do my very best."
