Gearing Up and Upkeep Guide as you level up
Welcome to this short Video showing basic tactics of upkeep between levels in DC Universe Online. The vendors in the police stations/hideouts depending if you are a hero or Villain, are the best way to check your gear and see if it is up to average for your level.
The first Level you can upgrade your gear will be at level 3, check the vendors in the police station/hideout you are at and if you have the funds I advise getting one of everything and two rings to be fully suited up for the battles ahead.
At early levels you will need to sell the old gear for funds so you can buy the better gear later. Once you have enough funds saved up I highly recommend Salvaging ALL old gear instead of selling it. At a point you have no problems with funds and you start to focus on source marks so be sure to do those die quests as they will help with gear, money, and source marks. A real win win win.
Small tip...check the PVP vendor if there is one for some gear that is just slightly better then the gear sold for your level from the general vendor.
This is a over simplistic guide for gearing up at the lower levels and wont really apply once you get to level 30. After that your gear upgrades will come from mission rewards, and bought using source marks and other tokens such as Coins of Ra by doing missions in the Infernal Kahndaq and other areas that give you special currency. It is by far better to use those currency than to use Source Marks as Source Marks are MUCH more valuable for other things.
Once I hit level 30 I will begin building this into a Healer, until then I am working on DPS in order to level up faster.
