Macintosh Portable Restoration Complete
This machine is now fully functioning. I rebuilt the battery with a generic $10 6v gel cell off ebay. I reused the casing and terminals from the old battery. I don't know if it will last as long as the original cells, but the rebuilt battery is certainly lighter. Once a charged battery was installed, the hard drive sprung to life.
